Sargassum seaweed affects the coasts of the Florida Keys, and Islamorada has its share, which ebbs and flows based on winds and tides, collecting on the shoreline at different times of the year. . Sargassum is just another part of Nature’s rich tapestry. In the open ocean, this seaweed serves as a nursery ground and natural haven for sea life, offering food, sanctuary, and breeding grounds for crab, shrimp, whales, sea turtles, migratory birds, and over 120 species of fish. SPRING AND SUMMER MONTHS are greatly affected, as this is not cleared out during this time period.

We were the first renters of this home and it did not disappoint. The layout and view is what we look for in a rental when the whole family gets together and this home couldnt have worked better. The living area is large, connected to the kitchen, dining and connected to the outdoors with large pocketing sliders. the kitchen has luxury appliances and is very well appointed. An outdoor gas grill and icemaker help with large groups. the large living area opened onto a large covered porch which then stepped onto the pool/hot tub deck. It was all very intimate and perfect for our family as some like the shade and some like the sun and some like the water, yet we could all be together at the same time. We also liked the kayaks that were provided as well as the lawn games. It was wonderful to sit out on the porch every night for dinner with that expansive water view. A big hit with the kids was the movie room which also seemed to be insulated so they could watch loud action movies in there while adults were in the living area watching something else or playing games. Thank you for opening your home to us, it was a fabulous experience and we will be back next year!
